How do I know if my slab needs repair or just has normal settling cracks?
Thin hairline cracks in concrete or drywall are common and often harmless. It's time for an inspection when cracks keep widening, brick cracks in a stair-step pattern, doors and windows start sticking, or floors noticeably slope. An elevation survey shows whether the slab is actually moving.
What causes slab foundations to move in North Texas?
Most DFW homes sit on expansive clay that swells when wet and shrinks during drought. Uneven moisture under the slab — from poor drainage, thirsty trees, or a plumbing leak — lets one area rise or sink more than another.
Pressed concrete piers or steel piers — which is better?
Neither is best for every home. Pressed concrete piers are the most widely used slab repair in North Texas; steel or hybrid piers can reach deeper support where soil conditions call for it. We recommend a pier type after the inspection, based on your soil and the load on the slab.
How long does slab foundation repair take?

Will the cracks in my walls close after the repair?
